Form the future of law
The Legal Analyst team is the core of the Advanced Solutions team of Ashurst Advance, and is dedicated to producing legal work for the firm and clients in the most efficient and economical way possible.
The role will give you great exposure to high quality commercial legal work and provide you the opportunity to apply and develop your skills across a broader range of practice areas, clients and industries than what you would traditionally have access to in a legal role. Every day is different as you work nationally and globally with other Legal Analysts, lawyers and clients on a range of litigious and transactional matters across a broad range of industries.
These roles are based in Brisbane and we offer two intakes annually, recruited in November for a January start and in May for a July start. View the key dates section below for when applications open.
What we can offer you
Career opportunities
The role also provides a flexible career with the opportunity to move into roles within the Ashurst Advance network including eDiscovery, Legal Project Management, Legal Technology, Legal Analyst Management and possible Legal Associate pathways.
Inclusive culture
You’ll be an integral part of a close-knit, diverse, inclusive and energised community of colleagues, and you will be encouraged to help us improve and develop our procedures, culture and client offerings.
Learning & Development
In addition to the legal and commercial skills you will develop in your day to day work with practice groups and clients, you will also be provided support and training from the Legal Analyst Managers and access to the firm’s award winning Learning & Development programmes.
Global team
You will be a part of a global firm and have the opportunity to consistently work with your Glasgow based colleagues on matters.
The recruitment process
You will be required to submit a short application including uploading your CV and answering two short answer questions.
Once you have applied you will be immediately emailed a link to complete two aptitude assessments:
Cognify’ – requires you to complete a series of online games measuring your problem solving and analytical skills.
Emotify’ – requires you to complete two online games measuring your ability to accurately perceive emotions and effectively understand the connections between emotions, and situations that lead to specific emotional reactions.
The assessments only take circa 45-60 minutes to complete.
Prior to your interview you will need to complete a short, one hour technical assessment to gauge your ability to work on an everyday task that you'd come across in the role. The task is designed to assess your attention to detail, practical legal knowledge and your ability to work to a deadline.
The interview will be conversational and is designed to assess the behaviours we’re looking for through competency-based questions. It’s also an opportunity for you to find out more about us, so please come prepared with your questions.
We aim to recruit, retain and promote the best people from the widest possible talent pools. We are committed to offering a safe and welcoming environment for all employees to ensure they are supported to work at their best.
If you require additional support or adjustments before submitting your application and during the recruitment process, please contact our Talent Acquisition Team.
