Christophe Lemaire

Christophe Lemaire is a partner in our antitrust, regulation and foreign investment and EU law practice

Christophe heads the competition and EU law department of the Paris office.

His practice focuses on all aspects on EU and French competition law. He has recognised expertise in advising French and international companies on anti-competitive practices, merger control, state aid, damages claims and the control of subsidies and foreign investment. He regularly advises clients before national and European competition authorities and courts.. He also represents clients before the sector-specific regulatory authority, in particular in the energy, transport and media sectors.

Christophe was Rapporteur permanent and Counsel for European Affairs at the French Competition Council (2003 - 2006). He worked in the legal department of the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs (Community and international economic law division) where he was in charge of competition affairs and network industries, in particular representing the French government before the Court of Justice (2002 - 2003).

In 2003, Christophe published his thesis on the liberalisation of the energy sector in Europe. He is also Senior Lecturer in French and European competition law and regulatory law at the Sorbonne Law School (University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne). He is also co-chair of the Master 2 in Economic law of the European Union.

Christophe is a member of the Paris Bar.
