Giovanna is a law and policy expert with more than twelve years of experience in EU law and EU regulatory affairs. She has an impressive track record in dealing with EU policy making and legislative procedures and possesses an excellent understanding of EU policies across a vast set of areas. She provides sophisticated analyses of EU legislative and regulatory developments across regulated industry sectors, with a special focus on trade, digital, and sustainability issues, identifying risks and opportunities for clients.
Giovanna's areas of expertise also include public affairs and government relations at European level, thanks to her sound knowledge of, and connections with, key actors in Brussels and the capitals of various EU member states. On behalf of national and European trade associations, she is regularly involved in the entire EU legislative process, from early inception to adoption, devising and carrying through advocacy strategies. Through her work, Giovanna has been able to establish cooperative relationships with a variety of stakeholders, from the EU institutions (European Commission, European Parliament, Council of the EU) to representatives of public interest groups and industries. With her advice, Giovanna provides sought-after assistance to her clients in their timely strategic positioning with regard to major EU regulatory changes.
Over the years, Giovanna has further developed a strong expertise in trade law, where she supports Ashurst's international and EU trade litigation, policy and regulatory practice on trade remedies (anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguards), foreign-direct investment screening and trade compliance matters.
