Raphael is an Associate in the firm's Brussels Office, with a keen focus on EU competition law and international trade regulation. He specializes in assisting clients in navigating intricate legal challenges and complex proceedings before antitrust and trade authorities and courts at both the EU and national levels.
Raphael routinely advises clients from industries as diverse as entertainment, sports, chemicals, energy, and finance. He handles a wide array of matters involving competition and trade issues, including the sale of intellectual property rights, Articles 101 and 102 TFEU proceedings and issues, merger control, and other EU and national competition law matters. His expertise in EU law also extends to the areas of trade and sustainability regulations, where he provides critical guidance, inter alia, on compliance with the evolving EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.
Admitted to practice in France, Belgium (E-List), California, and New York, Raphael has a proven track record of litigating cases across multiple jurisdictions, including the EU, the US, France, and Luxembourg. His in-house experience enriches his perspective, ensuring a deep understanding of client constraints and strategic needs. Raphael holds an LL.M. degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where he made the Dean's List, and a master's degree in international business law from a leading French university.
