Roman Brtka is partner in our dispute resolution practice in Munich
He advises national and international clients in particular on all aspects of trade mark, design, competition and copyright law.
His clients come from a wide range of sectors such as the automotive, telecommunications, media and sports industries. He has in-depth industry knowledge and, in particular, extensive expertise in connection with market entries in the EU and marketing campaigns (e.g. ESG, green advertising and labelling).
Roman studied law at the University of Passau and Kings College London (KCL) and holds a Master of Laws (LL.M. Eur.) degree from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). He was admitted to the German bar in 2010. Roman is a qualified Business Mediator (MuCDR).
Roman is the author of numerous specialist articles on intellectual property law and is a frequent speaker at national and international events. He is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR), the Design Committee of the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA) and the Institute for Copyright and Media Law Munich (IUM).
Prior to joining Ashurst in 2024, Roman was a Partner in the Munich office of the international law firm Bird & Bird. He had been on secondment to the legal department of AUDI AG in Ingolstadt.
