Ashursts German banking and finance team again

Ashurst's German banking and finance team has again been named "TOP Law Firm" by business magazine WirtschaftsWoche in its latest ranking for banking and finance law. Dr Matthias Weissinger has also been recognised as "TOP Lawyer 2023" for banking and finance law.

The Handelsblatt Research Institute interviewed more than 1,700 lawyers from 135 law firms to find the most renowned law firms and lawyers in the field of banking and finance law and capital markets law. A jury of experts reviewed and analysed the ranked lawyers. According to the jury's evaluation, 21 law firms with 35 especially recommended lawyers for banking and finance law prevailed.

Ashurst's German banking and finance practice advises both banks and alternative lenders, private equity investors and companies on domestic and cross-border acquisition, real estate, asset and infrastructure / project finance as well as on financial restructuring and corporate lending.

Dr Matthias Weissinger, LL.M. (UPenn) is a partner and focuses on domestic and cross-border financings and restructurings. He advises in particular national and international financial institutions, debt funds, sponsors and corporate borrowers on leveraged buyouts, unitranche financings, bank/bond financings as well as corporate lending for large- and mid-cap companies. He has also broad experience in advising on complex debt restructurings, out-of-court solutions and insolvency proceedings.
