Helen is a highly experienced lawyer in Ashurst's global loans team and has been a member of the firm's Executive Team in a number of roles since 2016, including as head of industry, global co-head of finance, and most recently as global co-head of clients. Having joined as a partner in 2001, she has also been involved in many diversity and inclusion initiatives since being a founding member of the firm's diversity committee in 2005.

Her appointment follows Logan Mair's two year term, Lynn Dunne having earlier stepped back to take a role on Ashurst's Board.

Commenting on the appointment, Ashurst Global CEO Paul Jenkins said: "I would like to congratulate Helen on her appointment. Helen brings a wealth of experience to her new role. As an impressive dealmaker and a longstanding global leader in the firm, she is the right person to lead the London office as we head into the next chapter of growth for the firm. I look forward to continuing to work closely with her in the years ahead.

"On behalf of the partnership, I would also like to thank Logan and Lynn for their dedicated leadership of the London office during a particularly challenging period with the pandemic and the subsequent reopening of the office. They have ensured our London office has continued to grow, including with 28 new partners in London over the last two years and 18% revenue growth over that period, which has further enhanced our position in the broader market."

Helen added: "I'm so proud to have the opportunity to lead Ashurst's London office, and to serve the colleagues I have worked closely with since the early 2000s. The last few years have brought great opportunities as well as challenges and we have performed incredibly strongly, with our progress underpinned by our collaborative culture.

"I am excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of our London office. As the world changes, successful firms will be those that truly understand the major trends shaping their clients' businesses for tomorrow and beyond. I see a large part of my role as bringing focus to clients in a similar manner to the role that I had as a member of the Executive Team. At the same time, I think that the role of the Office Managing Partner is to help build a community in the office and ensure that everyone feels proud to work at Ashurst. Building on Lynn and Logan's fantastic tenure, I want to ensure the London office continues to facilitate a working environment that enables high performance and fosters a sense of ambition. I'm keen that we all work together to make the most of the opportunities that the changing working environment brings."
