Joel Moss is a counsel in our planning, environment and first nations practice
Joel specialises in resources and indigenous land law, and has worked both in private and public practice acting for industry, government and indigenous groups.
Joel advises clients on native title, cultural heritage, indigenous land rights, tenure and land acquisition issues in relation to major resource and infrastructure projects, and assists clients navigate regulatory processes, secure project approvals, implement agreements and manage stakeholder issues.
Prior to joining Ashurst, Joel worked as a senior lawyer for the Queensland Government's Department of Natural Resources and Mines. In 2016, Joel completed a secondment to the Northern Land Council, where he acted for Aboriginal landowners on mining and petroleum projects in the Northern Territory.
