Rob is a partner in Ashurst's Global Corporate and M&A team. Rob specialises in corporate acquisitions and disposals (both public and private), share issues, joint ventures, investments, and commercial contracts. As well as advising a wide range of corporates, Rob has specialist expertise in the financial services industry acting for banks, insurers, asset managers, speciality finance providers, payment services providers, fintechs and other financial services conglomerates.

Rob’s representative experience includes:

  • S&P Global in relation to its acquisition of ARC Research Limited.
  • Jefferies Financial Group, Inc. in relation to its Global Strategic Alliance with SMBC.
  • General Atlantic in relation to its acquisition of Actis.
  • Oak Hill in relation to its acquisition by T. Rowe Price.
  • IHS Markit in relation to its merger with S&P Global.
  • IHS Markit in relation to the sale of US TMT information business to Informa PLC.
  • Vontobel AG in relation to the acquisition of 24 Asset Management.
  • Several international financial institutions in relation to various corporate reorganisations. including as a consequence of regulatory change (for example, CRD VI, Brexit, AIFMD, ring-fencing, etc).
  • McLaren Racing Limited in relation to the acquisition of certain equity interests in it by McLaren Group Limited.
  • McLaren Group Limited in relation to the disposal of its automotive business to CYVN.
  • McLaren Group Limited in relation to an £500m equity raise from existing and third-party investors.
  • McLaren Racing Limited in relation to an equity investment by MSP Sports Capital.
  • McLaren Racing Limited in relation to its acquisition of the Mercedes-Benz Formula E team.
