Ashurst Advance boosts global offering with senior hire

Global law firm Ashurst announces the appointment of Alex Fortescue-Webb in London as director of Legal Managed Services within its award-winning NewLaw division, Ashurst Advance, as part of the firm's global expansion of this service offering to clients.

With 20 years of legal, consulting, technology and NewLaw experience, Alex brings a wealth of legal managed services expertise to help Ashurst's clients globally with their requirements across commercial contracting, data privacy, litigation and claims management, financial services contracts, real estate, IP and many other subject areas.

"We are delighted to have attracted someone of Alex's calibre," said Chris Georgiou, global co-head of Ashurst Advance. "We are seeing a huge increase in demand from our clients for legal managed services and outsourced solutions, reflecting continuing pressure on GCs and in-house legal functions to streamline their functions and focus on core value-added activity. Alex is highly experienced in working with clients to understand their challenges, and designing integrated solutions to meet their needs. I'm looking forward to working closely with Alex."

Alex said: "I'm thrilled to join Ashurst. The firm has a genuine commitment to innovation and to supporting clients more holistically; I look forward to building on the team's existing capabilities to solve an even broader range of legal challenges."

Alex joins from Norton Rose Fulbright where he was Co-Head of Legal Managed Services, prior to which he was a partner at EY where he co-led contract lifecycle management globally and before that as Head of EMEA Financial Services at Axiom.
